About ME!

Randi Donnell is an independent artist based in St. Charles, Missouri.

I cannot say that I am far along enough in my art journey to pinpoint one subject or style that I would like to incorporate into my work. I will say however that I am passionate about children, helping those who need help, black people's life story,, the ability to convey emotions, and provide opportunities to create conversations that are delicate in nature. As per the name of my current art business, the word delicate can be used in a positive way to mean intricate and precious. This means the nature of something's innerworkings are fragile and hard or impossible to replicate. On the other hand, delicate can have a negative connotation as someone or something that is on the verge of possible internal or external chaos if not handled with care. Social issues, mental illness, personal confrontations just to name a few.

Overall, I like the dichotomy of the word’s definition as I strongly believe that there is not one way of looking at people or at our world. If not handled with care, our surroundings are destroyed as quickly as they are saved. I would like to remind everyone to approach people, situations, issues and solutions with care keeping in mind the various angles and interpretations since one cannot hope to understand and gain meaning in life and each other if this is not taken into consideration. I say all of that to say that unfortunately, there is a reality to our world that is often covered up, purposely misunderstood and manipulated to fit a certain narrative that is often based in human selfishness and survival. I would like to highlight that as well based on my and others personal experiences surrounded by what ifs. What if no one had diseases? What if I just let my imagination run wild? What if we could feel each other pain and see life through each others eyes? What if I just lived life without fear? I would like to explore these ideas and invite my viewers to as well. As I grow older and experience life in our ever changing society, my art goals may change as well as my values and morals. Who knows. We are not who we are in the past. I only hope to never stop imagining, never stop growing and never stop being a helping hand to those around me. We live life together even when we want to be apart. I plan on setting up a donation process so that a percentage of profits go toward solutions to societal issues and people's personal situations. As a future art teacher and art therapist, children, education and mental illness are my major focuses for my life.
